Viktor Bernik

Viktor Bernik (1971, Ljubljana) is a Slovenian artist. He lives and works in Ljubljana.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, where he did his MFA and has studied one semester at IUP Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

He had numerous solo exhibitions, among them are Minnie Worlds in A+A Gallery in Venice (2004), Spaces of Urban Images in Gallery Equrna in Ljubljana (2005), ...Oil Stains, Rectangles and a Gunshot in Ganes Pratt Gallery in Ljubljana (2007), Untitled Project in Mala Gallery (Moderna Gallery) in Ljubljana (2009), The Tower in Pentagonal Tower in Ljubljana (2009) and New Works (With Žiga Kariž) in Gallery Equrna (2011) in Ljubljana.
He participated in many recent major shows and surveys on contemporary art in SLovenija such as The Present and Presence in MSUM, Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana (2012), 28th Biennial of Graphic Arts in International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC), Ljubljana (2010), Museum on the Street, in Moderna Gallery Ljubljana (2008), Non-Central Domains: Video Art in Slovenija after 2000, Moderna galerija (hosted by Ganes Pratt Gallery), Ljubljana (2008), U3- 5th Triennial of Contemporary Slovene Art, Moderna Gallery Ljubljana (2006), and Territories, Identities, Nets – Slovene art 1995-2005, Moderna Gallery Ljubljana (2005).
He participated in international group exhibitions such as The New Ten in Kunsthaus, Vienna, Austria and in MKM Museum Küppersmuhle, Duisburg, Germany (2004), D'Est- mostra di giovani artisti sloveni, Art Verona, Fiera d'arte moderna e contemporanea, Verona, Italy (2008), Touches de fond in Galerie l'antichambre, Chambery, France (2008), and Slovenian Painting after 1945 from the Art Collection of Nova Ljubljanska banka Hotel de Ville de Bruxelles, Bruxelles (2008).

His works are in public collections such as in Moderna Gallery in Ljubljana, Mestna Gallery in Nova Gorica and Collection Of Nova Ljubljanska Banka in Ljubljana.
